What is a certified French translation?
Certain documents in France and other French-speaking countries often simply must be translated into French for them to be accepted. Even if the person you deal with speaks your language and understands the paperwork, they cannot give you the approval you seek.
A certified French translation is very important because it provides a legal record of a document. The legal process demands that these contracts and certificates be translated by a qualified translator. A certified (or sworn) translator is slightly different – see below for more on that.
Acolad is home to a team of court-accredited and certified French translators. They can provide certified French translations to or from French into almost any language. Once our team has translated your paperwork it is certified. This means you have peace of mind, knowing that your information will be accepted by the relevant, French-speaking authorities.
What is a sworn French translator?
A sworn French translator is someone that is authorized – usually by governments or courts – to translate official documents. A sworn French translator signs and seals their translation. Once the document has the sworn translator’s stamp, the said sworn translator assumes legal responsibility for that document. It is now an official document.
A certified French translation does not need to be completed by a sworn, or certified, translator. It is simply the document.
At Acolad, our sworn French translators are recognized as expert translators and interpreters. They each possess a deep knowledge in linguistics, legislation and the various legal terminologies that abound. Our sworn French translations are a guarantee of the accuracy of the information translated.
