About the role:

Acolad Canada is looking for an experienced technical writer, to fill an immediate need for one of our clients to support them in the creation and management of their user documentation for new products.


  • Your goal is to create comprehensible documentation so customers can easily find what they need to know about the product and how they can use it.
  • You will provide for clear documentation to help users
  • Work with various departments including engineering, customer service, and marketing, and provide input to determine appropriate content and format
  • Understand and interpret technical documentation.
  • Review and ensure quality control of documents
  • Take care of and analyze the work requests
  • Prepare or create, and organize drawings, charts, and graphs for inclusion in manuals and other technical documentation.
  • Manage user manual process from request through publication and distribution.
  • Manage multilingual translations of technical documentation
  • Be a leader in suggesting the use of new technologies, process improvement

  • Requirements:
    • You have a Bachelor’s degree with a Technical profile and two to five years of relevant experience.
    • High English level
    • You are able to understand complex technical products and translate the information into easily understandable texts.
    • Good knowledge of MS Office Suite
    • Knowledge of tools Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat
    • Knowledge about mark-up languages (SGML, XML) and structured writing experience constitutes a very strong advantage.
    • DITA standard knowledge is an asset
    • Good Knowledge with XML editor (Arbortext Editor. Oxygen, ...) is an asset
    • S1000D and/or ATA2200 standard knowledge is an asset but not a requirement for this position
    • Good organization skills and proficiency in setting priorities.
